I'll definitely be the slowest rider in the pelican, especially when climbing.
Four years ago I did Sa Colobra in 67 minutes and thought it was the greatest sporting achievement of my life. Two weeks ago a mate of mine did it in 39 minutes. Well, I say 'mate': I mean 'former mate'.
Three years ago I did RideLondon100. The sun shone for eight weeks straight from May, not a cloud in the sky. Until, that is, I reached Chiswick Bridge on the way out. The downpour stopped as I got to Kingston on the way back. 80 frickin' miles of rain and wind.
I try to cycle 100k a week, usually split over two loops.
